Securing applications is about making
the right choices. For many, that means hardware protection of cryptographic
keys and processes, leaving open other options like choice of programming
environment, operating system or cryptographic interface. Thales e-Security
provides readily integrated hardware security for virtually all application
environments, delivering better security, more performance and easier
management and control.
For back offices the Host Security Module (HSM) brings maximum connectivity
to host applications together with a simple low level interface. The
Security Resource Manager (SRM) extends this capability even further
by managing multiple HSMs, allocating security resource across many different
applications. These capabilities are complemented by Thales’ Personalisation
Preparation Process (P3™) and P3 Crypto Module for the issuance
and personalisation of smart cards.
In the Middle Office, WebSentry™ integrates into application server
environments to secure a broad range of applications. With a choice of
hardware platform (PCI or Ethernet), development interface (including
PKCS#11, Java Cryptographic Extension or OpenSSL) and operating system
(Windows, Solaris or Linux) there really is no easier way of adding hardware
security to applications in the middle office.
In the Front Office – the customer interface to applications – Thales
e-Security supports a wide range of authentication mechanisms based on
both hardware and software solutions. They include Identrus smart cards,
Arcot ID tokens, SafeSign® Tokens,
dynamic passwords
and PKI certificates together with other innovative new authentication
techniques such as EMV-based Authentication (MasterCard CAP and Visa
Token Authentication).
