The Datacryptor
2000 Frame Relay model is designed to protect data transmitted
over private or public Frame Relay networks. The unit authenticates
remote devices
and can support up to 992 encrypted Data Link Connection Identifiers
(DLCIs). To improve security, each encrypted DLCI is protected by a unique
set of keys. Different keys are used in each direction of transmission
on the same logical connection. The Datacryptor 2000 automatically
discovers the identity of peer units, its address, and the associated
DLCI allocation of other Datacryptor 2000 units connected to the
Frame Relay network, significantly reducing configuration and management
overhead. A Standard model is available capable of supporting Frame Relay
data transmission at speeds up to 256 Kbps over V.35 and V.11/X.21 circuits.
A High Speed model capable of supporting Frame Relay data transmission
at speeds up to 1.544/2.048 Mbps over V.35, V.11/X.21 or E1 (unframed)
circuits with an RJ45 120 ohm balanced or 75 ohm BNC unbalanced interface
is also available. The very high speed model can achieve transmission
speeds up to 8Mbps.
