CheckPhone, Europe ’s leading provider of security solutions for enterprise telephony applications, and Thales, Europe ’s foremost supplier of security solutions for critical information systems, today announced that they are planning to jointly develop innovative solutions to ensure the security and availability of critical applications such as ToIP (Telephony over IP).
By pooling their technological and commercial strengths, Thales and CheckPhone will be able to share expertise and leverage their respective positions to offer tailored security solutions for users of convergent, real-time voice applications.
Patrick Heuline, Director of Strategy and Marketing for the Security Communication business of Thales, said: “Ensuring the availability and integrity of such applications as ToIP is the next major challenge security players will face. In today’s world of sophisticated, diversified communications threats, real-time applications such as ToIP are particularly vulnerable. What’s more, solutions must be capable of taking into account the specific features and legacy of these applications. In other words, they must go beyond the mainstream security functions implemented for data services. This tie-up with CheckPhone will allow Thales to enrich the functional range of its ToIP security products and offer customers solutions that precisely match the requirements of such applications.”

Collaboration between Thales and CheckPhone has already resulted in the validation of security architecture and services concepts by customers and prospective customers.
Thales and CheckPhone will participate in the Alcatel-Lucent enterprise forum on 14- 16 February 2007 , at the Palais des Congrès in Paris , France . CheckPhone will offer demonstrations of its current solutions on its own exhibit, together with an interactive demonstration on the exhibit of its distributor, NextiraOne.
