Prime Factors’ Bank Card Security System (BCSS), together with Thales HSMs, are used by the largest issuers and secure personalization bureaus such as TSYS, Discover and Alliance Data. BCSS integrates exclusively with Thales HSMs to meet logical security requirements established by the network brands (Visa, MasterCard, etc.) including key management that incorporates HSMs for security. BCSS significantly reduces the programming required to make Thales HSMs work in accordance with requirements for EMV on-line issuance and authentication, and to create and verify security codes (CVVs, CVCs, CSCs, PVVs, etc.) and PINs. A library of subroutines includes 100-plus functions that access the BCSS key vault database and a Thales HSM; thus eliminating the need to know Thales’ proprietary host commands. BCSS supports heterogeneous environments and is callable from many popular programming languages.
