This example is based on configuring
a Windows Millennium PC with a SafeDial+ in a SafePort attached to
a Thales modem. These instructions assume that you have already installed
the SafeDial+ 16 bit client.
Insert your SafeDial+ with the Thales modem attached into the SafePort,
you should hear a two tone acknowledgment and after about 20 seconds
the "dc" LED should go out.
Start the SafeDial+ client from the start menu (Start, Program,
SafeDial, SafeDial Client)
You will be presented with the logon screen. Enter your password
and tick the Minimize application on Successful Login box if it is
not already ticked.

Assuming that your password is correct the application will minimize
to the task bar. Depending on the version you are using you may get
a message about maintaining the physical security of the SafeDial+.
Once the application is minimized you can continue making the Dial
Up connection.
To create a dial up connection go to Start, Programs, Accessories,
Communications, Dial Up Networking.
Click on the New Connection icon.
Give the entry an appropriate name and make sure the SafeDial+ is
selected in the device section:
 Click
Next.
Enter the area code and phone number as shown:
 Click
Next.

Click Finish. You will now have a new icon in the Dial Up Networking
folder. Right click on the icon and select properties. Uncheck the
box which says Use area code and Dialling Properties (as shown in
the diagram below).

Click on OK and then double click on the entry. Fill in your username
and password (these credentials are for RAS and are nothing to do
with your SafeDial+ password). Click on the Connect button to initiate
the connection.
