The Security Resource Manager (SRM) family of software solutions help you manage and control multiple payment Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) attached to IBM or Tandem host computers.
SRMs allow multiple applications to use multiple HSMs through a flexible and convenient software interface, and without the need to modify any application software. The result is substantially reduced application development time, optimized efficiency, dependable fault tolerance, and easy expandability.
SRMs are tailored to work on IBM or Tandem platforms. For instance, the API for the IBM version is designed to operate with applications written in COBOL, Assembler, and languages available on IBM systems.
Cost effective HSM utilisation. Adds the capability to deploy multiple HSMs without host software application development.
Easy integration with host application. No changes required to host application to utilise the SRM.
Load balancing. Maximises the use of the HSM pool enabling higher overall cryptographic performance to be achieved.
Resilience. An error or failure on any single HSM does not impact application processing – the command is automatically assigned to another HSM under SRM control.
Flexibility. Adding and removing HSMs is totally transparent to the host and avoids system downtime.
