A US Department of Defense Information Technology Agency
In October 2002, a key Department of Defense Information Technology Agency in the USA has awarded a major contract to Videla International and Thales e-Security for the Thales e-Security Datacryptor ATM devices. Videla International Corporation’s charter is providing Government customers with Information Technology products and services, and also providing sales and technical support to IT vendors that market products to the Government and Public sectors.

Thales e-Security understands the Government requirement of securing complex sensitive networks, and has provided encryption products to meet complex Government Link, Frame Relay, X.25, IP and other network security requirements. Over the last 22 years, they have delivered over 60,000 encryption products to Government and commercial customers, including White House, State Department, Treasury Department, Federal Reserve Bank, Federal Law Enforcement Agencies and various elements of the Department of Defense.

As a result of this significant contract award, Thales e-Security is in a leading position to supply ATM and SONET encryptors to all Departments of the United States Government. This significant award to Videla International further validates the Thales e-Security channel partnership strategy, and the mutual objective of providing high-bandwidth security solutions to important Government customers.

Thales e-Security’s Datacryptor ATM is a high-speed encryption product, specifically designed to secure voice, data and video information transmitted over Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) networks at data rates from DS3 to OC3 and beyond. The Datacryptor ATM provides access control, authentication, electronic key management, and in-band management between secured sites/nodes, and confidentiality of transmitted information via FIPS 140 and Common Criteria approved cryptographic methods. The encryptor can be added to an existing ATM network with complete transparency to the end user and other networking equipment.

The successful bid on this critical DoD program places both companies in a leadership position of providing high-bandwidth network security solutions to all Departments and Agencies.
